The Maryland Chapter of the ACNM works hard to promote the midwifery profession and serve as a way for Maryland midwives to communicate and share ideas. As a member, you will benefit from the work our Chapter does, both personally and professionally.

Currently, our chapter is working on these projects:

• Pass a bill to preserve birth options in the state
• Support bills for better reimbursement of midwives
• Advocate for bills supportive of mothers and babies
• Meet state delegates in Annapolis
• Organize meetings for our members
• Plan social events
• Plan and sponsor CEU education events
• Provide scholarships for students
• Sell our trademark bags and other merchandise
• Be your voice at regional meetings & with professional organizations
• Represent you at the ACNM National Convention
• Build up the treasury to support current and future activities
• Redesigning our website to promote our profession and serve as a resource for both midwives and consumers

In addition, our new website will enable Maryland midwives to do the following:

• Keep up-to-date on announcements, meetings, and events
• Find available jobs and continuing education opportunities
• Buy Maryland Chapter merchandise by browsing through our stock online (coming soon)
• Pay dues online (coming soon)
• Access pertinent membership information: mission, minutes, by-laws, etc
• Vote online in elections (coming soon)
• Update personal and practice information more easily
• Communicate with midwives across the state using our online forums including our general chapter forum and legislative forum (coming soon)
